Dodge Ram 1500 has received the highest government frontal crash test rating for the driver and front passenger-the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) five-star rating.*
In this test, vehicles are crashed into a fixed barrier at 35 miles per hour, which NHTSA states is equivalent to a head-on collision between two identical vehicles, each traveling at 35 mph. Instrumented dummies in the driver and front-passenger seats register forces and impacts during the crash.
