Infiniti Financial Services (IFS)-a division of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC), Nissan's financial services division -will allow customers in hurricane-stricken areas to defer two vehicle payments without extension fees. All customers living in counties declared a disaster by the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be eligible.
"Our hearts go out to the victims of this devastating hurricane," said Steve Lambert, president of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. "Those feeling the effects of Katrina shouldn't have to worry about a car payment during this time of suffering."
IFS's payment deferral plan allows customers the time needed to get back on their feet without the added burden of a vehicle payment. NMAC has been a leader in providing payment deferrals to its customers in times of crisis.
Infiniti customers should contact Infiniti Financial Services at their earliest convenience to validate the terms of the deferral.
The IFS program comes in addition to other hurricane- related assistance. Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA), has donated $500,000 in cash to the American Red Cross Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund, and has provided 50 full-size pickup trucks and SUVs to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
In addition, Nissan will match dollar-for-dollar employee donations to the Red Cross's Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund, up to a total of $250,000 in employee contributions.
