Rocca makes it five out of five

Five World Cup slaloms raced - five victories claimed. The uncatchable Giorgio Rocca has triumphed yet again, on the snow of Wengen in Switzerland, demonstrating once again, as if proof were needed, that he is in top form.
Lying in fourth places after the first run, the Alfa Romeo Ski Racing Team's star athlete turned on the style to deliver a perfect second run. "Winning in Wengen - said the runaway slalom leader - was harder than the previous races. After finishing in fourth place after the first run, I knew I had to move up a gear. It was important to repeat my performances of recent months, but as the number of victories increases, so do the expectations of the public and the amount of attention around me, but I'm quite happy and relaxed about it all ".
Next Sunday the slalom moves on to Kitzbuehel, and the Italian athlete has no intention of slowing up: "Sunday's race is very important. This is where I claimed the first podium finish of my career, and it would be great to repeat the feat this time".
With his success in Wengen, Rocca has equalled the record of skiing legends such as Stenmark and Girardelli for the most consecutive victories. Ahead of him now there is only Alberto Tomba, with nine wins in a row. But for now all eyes are on the Olympics, which are now just around the corner, with medals at stake, so 'Forza Giorgio'!
