Porsche employee celebrates 50 years of service

Stuttgart. For the first time, one of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart's female employees can look back on half a century of being part of the company: Gisela Koloska (64) has been working for the automobile manufacturer for 50 years. Yesterday her unusual anniversary was celebrated befittingly in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Only one other employee has celebrated a 50-year anniversary and that was tinsmith Erich Kakalik in 2003. The celebration was also attended by the President and Chief Executive Officer of Porsche AG, Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, member of the Executive Board with responsibility for Finance and Controlling, Holger Harter, Head of the Works Council for the Porsche Group, Uwe Huck, and well as partner and Supervisory Board member Dr. Wolfgang Porsche.
Gisela Koloska had just turned fourteen when she began commercial training on April 1, 1956 at Porsche Plant 1. After final exams, the Cannstatt-born Koloska worked for many years as administrator in various divisions such as accounting, sales scheduling and construction before changing to the finance department in 1975 where she remains today as secretary of the Treasury area.
Holger Harter, Porsche's Chief Financial Officer, honored her as a hard-working, disciplined and absolutely loyal employee. It is far from being a matter of course that she has only worked for one company throughout her long professional career. "You are effectively part of Porsche's exciting history", emphasized Harter. Over the decades at the company, Gisela Koloska has been known for her enduring optimism and contagious love of life: "It is most likely her true Swabian nature that has kept her loyally with Porsche all these years: never let yourself get down, always look to the future - even in difficult times when others have long since given up", praised the Chief Financial Officer in recognition.
Her enthusiasm for Porsche has been with her since her birth said Harter, "There are evidently Porsche genes in her family that have been passed on from generation to generation". For Gisela Koloska's mother worked for the Porsche family, her brother was employed at the Development Center in Weissach and her nephew also works at the Zuffenhausen location today.
The fact that he can congratulate an employee on her 50-year anniversary is some-thing that Harter regarded as proof that Porsche is a place where one can happily spend a few decades. It also shows how highly valued employees with many years of experience are. "Highly motivated employees such as yourself have long-term job security", stressed Porsche's Chief Financial Officer.
Gisela Koloska will remain loyal to her company for another few months yet before entering well-deserved retirement at the end of the year. Then Gisela Koloska, who has lived with her family in Schwieberdingen since the 60s, can spend more time with her grandchildren. Also, she plans to remain fit in the future with running and sport - even if after 50 years her alarm clock will no longer wake her every morning.
